Our free range bronze and traditional barn reared white turkeys are produced to the highest standards of welfare and care for the environment.
After a long and active life, all the birds are allowed to reach full maturity before they are slaughtered on the farm. This avoids the stress to the birds of long distance transportation.
They are then dry plucked and hung for at least seven days to mature and develop the natural flavours unique to this traditional method of production.
All Appledore Turkeys are wrapped in greaseproof paper and presented in a carry-home box, along with a sprig of rosemary, vacuum-packed giblets, a pop-up timer and a recipe leaflet with easy-to-follow cooking tips and recipes.
For those catering for a smaller number, turkey crowns are available with only the most succulent of breast and wing meat on the bone – ideal for easy carving.
Our turkeys are available to purchase direct from the farm or through a wide network of independent butchers and farm shops.
